About IA Clean

Built for privacy, not for profiles.

IA Clean exists because images say more than they show — and most people never asked for that.

Why we built this

Every photo and every AI-generated image carries a quiet trail of data behind the pixels: the device or model that made it, the exact time and place, editing software, color profiles, and — increasingly — provenance tags that flag an image as AI-generated. Most people never see this data and never agreed to share it, yet it travels along with the file to every platform, chat, and inbox it passes through.

IA Clean is a small, focused tool that removes it. No accounts, no uploads, no server in the middle — just your browser, reading a file, rebuilding it clean, and handing it back to you.

How it works, briefly

When you drop an image into IA Clean, your browser reads the file, scans it for known metadata markers, and re-encodes the image from scratch onto a blank canvas. That re-encoded version never carries over the original file's hidden data — it's a new file, pixel-for-pixel identical to what you see, with nothing extra attached. You can see the full breakdown on the how it works section of the homepage.

What we believe

  • Privacy shouldn't require trustA tool that processes files locally doesn't need you to trust its servers, because there aren't any in the loop.
  • Simplicity is a featureDrag, drop, download. No settings to get wrong, no learning curve.
  • You own your imagesWhat a file reveals about you and where it was made should be your choice, not a default.

Who it's for

Artists sharing AI-generated work who don't want to disclose the exact prompt or model used. Photographers posting online who'd rather not broadcast GPS coordinates. Anyone forwarding a screenshot or photo who wants to know exactly what's inside it before it leaves their hands.
